About the event

Looking for judges and volunteers for our second annual ACT-SO competition that will be held April 8, 2023 at Clark College, Gaiser Hall, 8:00 AM to 5:30PM. The times will change once we secure the competition schedule.

It is a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high schools student’s grades 9-12. Students work with mentors from August to April to develop their projects and performances for the local competition. If they win, the NAACP will send them to the national competition which will be held July 26, in Boston Massachusetts.

Currently we are looking for judges  in the following categories:

Ø STEM: Engineering; Medicine & Health; Computer Science

HUMANITIES: Music Composition; Playwriting; Poetry-Written; Short Story

Ø PERFORMING ARTS: Dance Contemporary; Dance Modern; Music Instrumental-Contemporary and Classical; Music Vocal Contemporary

Ø VISUAL ARTS: Filmmaking; Painting; Photography; Sculpture.

Ø BUSINESS: Entrepreneurship.

Ø VOLUNTEERS: Room Facilitators; Door Monitor; Room Support
